Carole Lee Sabatula, age 86 of Bobtown, Pa. and formerly of Cleveland, Ohio passed away on Wednesday, February 28, 2024 in the Morgantown Healthcare Center, Morgantown, W.Va. She was born in Brownsville, Pa. on December 14, 1937 a daughter of the late James W. and Lena (Spiker) McAndrews. She was a graduate of Brownsville High School. After moving to the Cleveland area, she started working as a machinist for TRW, where she continued until her retirement in 1986. Upon moving to the Bobtown area, Mrs. Sabatula became affectionately known as “Grandma” to all the local kids, always passing out candy, drinks or popsicles. She enjoyed spending time at the Bobtown Rod and Gun Club functions, taking trips to the mountains and sightseeing in nature but spending time with her family was most precious. Her guilty pleasure was shopping and buying things for everyone else. She had a personality that was infectious, ready with a quick joke or pranks and never knew a stranger, always making friends wherever she went. Mrs. Sabatula was Catholic by faith. On August 1, 1959 she married Thomas E. Sabatula, who died March 10, 1994.
Surviving is a son, James M. Sabatula (Ruth) of Lucknow, Ontario; grandchildren, Candice Lynn McQuade, Jason Sabatula (Chelsea), Jerimie Sabatula and Alissa Gorby (Jarrett); thirteen great grandchildren, Daniel, Elizabeth, Weston, Claire, Kaden, Jada, Skyla, Wesley, Mason, Waylon Jordan, Nathaniel and Paislee; brother, Allen “Mac” McAndrews (Sue) of Kittanning, Pa.; three sisters, Patty Lukachinsky of Needles, Ca., Jean Ziegler (Allan) of Lake Suzy, Fla. and Barbara Lukachinsky (Frank) of Brookpark, Ohio; also surviving are several nieces, nephews and cousins. Deceased in addition to her husband and parents is a son, Thomas E. Sabatula, II; grandson, Stephen Micheal Sabatula; brothers, Louis, James and William McAndrews and sisters, Sarah Dewitt and Edith Wiltrout
Family and friends are welcome from 2 to 4 p.m. on Sunday in the Yoskovich Funeral Home, 300 South Vine Street, Carmichaels, Pa. Graveside services and interment will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, March 4, 2024 at Greene County Memorial Park Cemetery, Waynesburg, Pa. with the Rev. J. Francis Frazer officiating.
