Clarice was a graduate of Cumberland Township High School, Class of 1954. That same year, on July 26th, she married her sweetheart, John Thomas McCann. She was a long-time member of the Sugar Grove Baptist Church in Greensboro.

She was a 4-H Leader for the Pens and Needles Sewing Club, Farm Women, the Grange, and the Greene County Fun Squares.
