D. Ellen Patterson

D. Ellen Patterson, 84, of Waynesburg, Pa., passed away at 9:00 P.M. on Saturday, October 22, 2022 at the J. W. Ruby Memorial Hospital, Morgantown, W. Va. She was born February 2, 1938 in Franklin Township, Greene County, Pa., a daughter of the late Joseph Clarence and Frankie Rae (Knight) Wilson, Sr. Mrs. Patterson was a homemaker and resided most of her life in Waynesburg. She was a member of the Church of Christ in Waynesburg. Mrs. Patterson enjoyed studying her bible lessons, cooking, baking and playing solitaire and find-a-word. Baking pies were her specialty.

On October 26, 1955, she married Robert L. Patterson, Sr., who survives. Also surviving are three sons, Robert L. Patterson, Jr. (Sharon) and Bruce Edward Patterson (Debra Ann), both of Waynesburg and Ronald C. Patterson of Nemacolin, Pa.; three daughters, Donna L. Hurd (Joseph) of Mather, Pa., Janet S. "Tillie" Patterson (Jackie) of Nemacolin, Pa. and Deborah F. Patterson-Armel (Barry) of Pine Bank, Pa.; eight grandchildren, Kenneth Patterson, Melissa Patterson, Ryan Patterson, Lindsay Patterson (fiancé, Nathan Tuttle), Derek Hurd, Tyler Hurd, Marcus Armel and Raegan Armel; five great grandchildren, Emily, Landon, Kaitlyn, Isabella and Dawson; a sister, Dolly Newkirk of Waynesburg and several nieces and nephews. Deceased is a stillborn son, Richard Allen Patterson; two brothers, Joseph Clarence Wilson, Jr. and Mervin Wilson and three sisters, Thelma Areford, Nellie Tharp and Faye Scott.

Family and friends are welcome from 6 to 8 P.M. on Thursday, October 27, 2022 in the Yoskovich Funeral Home, Carmichaels, Pa.

The funeral service and interment at Greene County Memorial Park will be private.

The family suggests that memorial contributions be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital .
