Delbert A. Sloneker, 89, of Springdale, Arkansas, formerly of Rices Landing Pennsylvania, passed away on Wednesday, October 21, 2026. He was born on May 31, 1937 in Cumberland Township, Greene County, Pa. to the late Charles "Frank" and Bertha (Harvey) Sloneker.

Delbert was a 1955 graduate of Cumberland Township High School. He built his life through hard work, determination, and devotion to his family. He was a man who worked tirelessly and always gave his best. Over the course of his career, he worked his way up from service station owner-operator and overhead crane operator, to senior partner and owner of Carmichaels Floral for 19 years. His crowning professional achievement came through Avis Truck Leasing, where he advanced from washing trucks to Station Manager, District Manager, Regional Manager, and ultimately Vice President of Fleet and Assets for the entire company.

Outside of work, Delbert was active in his community. He is a proud past member of the Masons and Shiners Lodge in Toledo Ohio attaining the rank of 32nd Degree Mason. In Carmichaels, he served as a past member and president of the Carmichaels Lions Club and the Carmichaels Chamber of Commerce.

Delbert was also an accomplished baseball player throughout southwestern Pennsylvania, where pitching was his main position. His talent earned him a minor league baseball offer from the Philadelphia Phillies. He also had the ability to fix and build most anything. He valued his friends deeply and was highly regarded by those who knew him. He had a fondness for his furry friends, Maggie, Arnie, and Dallas.

The greatest joy of Delbert’s life was his family. He treasured his wife of 69 years, Maxine J. (Schulmeister) Sloneker, his three sons, and his beloved grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He lit up when they were around.
