Dorothy Grace McTighe, of Carmichaels, formerly of Greensboro, passed away on August 7, 2025, at the age of 85. She was born on July 7, 1940, in Adah, Pa., the daughter of the late Phillip Franklin and Elsie Mae (Sanders) Smalley.
Dorothy attended Uniontown High School through eleventh grade. On October 10, 1960, she married her beloved husband, Patrick Huey McTighe, Jr., who passed away on April 30, 1997. Dorothy dedicated her life to nurturing and caring for her family, something she truly enjoyed. She had a love for puzzle books, adult coloring and sticker books, playing bingo and crochet. She always had a special spot in her heart just for animals. If she was watching television, it was guaranteed to be either the Discovery Channel, a western, or a game show. Above all else, time spent with her family was the most treasured.
Surviving are her four children; sons, Patrick Huey McTighe, III, (Richard) of Hagerstown, Md., and Phillip Raymond McTighe of Uniontown, Pa.; daughters, Pamela Joan Miller (Victor) of Watkinsville, Ga. and Doreen Lynn Philcous (Scott) of Washington, Pa.; grandchildren, Phillip Franklin McTighe, Grace Anna Johnson (Connor), and Abbigail Celeste Miller; sister-in-law, Patricia Diane McTighe of Uniontown, Pa., and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by six siblings, Agnes, Virginia, Nancy, George, Vera, and Shirley.
Family and friends are welcome from 6:00 to 8:00 P.M. on Sunday, August 10, 2025 at Yoskovich Funeral Home, Inc., Carmichaels, Pa. A service will be held at 2:00 P.M. on Monday, August 11, 2025 in the funeral home, with Pastor Bryan Kelley officiating. Interment will follow at Church Hill Cemetery, McClellandtown.
