Edward R. Birks, Jr.

Edward R. Birks, Jr., 58, of Holbrook, Pa. and formerly of Pittsburgh, Pa., passed away on Wednesday, May 24, 2023 at Select Specialty Hospital, Morgantown, W. Va. after a brief illness.  He was born February 5, 1965 in Pittsburgh, Pa., a son of the late Edward R. Birks, Sr.  Eddie resided in Holbrook for the past five years and was currently employed by General Wire and Spring, McKees Rocks, Pa.  He was a member of Local 5032, District 10 of the United Steelworkers.  Eddie enjoyed hunting and riding his Harley-Davidson motorcycle.

Surviving are his mother, Eleanor E. (Guenther) Birks of New Smyrna Beach, Fla.; two brothers, William C. Birks (Lauralyn Johnson) of Carmichaels and Kenneth R. Birks (Mary Beth) of Ingram, Pa.; three sisters, Donna M. Birks of New Smyrna Beach, Fla. and Barbara Painter (Dennis) and Lisa Birks, both of Florida.

Family and friends are welcome from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 P.M. on Saturday in the Yoskovich Funeral Home, Carmichaels, Pa.  The funeral service will follow the visitation at 8:00 P.M. on Saturday with Dr. Donald Wilson officiating.

A graveside committal service will be held at 2:00 P.M. on Sunday, May 28, 2023 at Muddy Creek Cemetery, Jefferson Township, Greene County, Pa.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that memorial contributions be made to a charity of the donor's choice.
