Edward Duane Filby, 76, of Dilliner, Pa. and formerly of Waynesburg, Pa., passed away on Tuesday, December 3, 2019 in his home. He was born September 30, 1943 in Franklin Township, Greene County, Pa., a son of the late John W. and Inez G. (McMannis) Filby. Mr. Filby is a 1963 graduate of Jefferson High School and resided in Waynesburg for about 20 years prior to moving to Dilliner this year. He served with the U. S. Army in Germany during the Vietnam Era and enjoyed fishing.

Surviving are a daughter, Cheryl L. McChesney, with whom he made his home; three step sons, Gary Martin of Waynesburg, Donald Martin (Cheryl) of Crucible, Pa. and Bruce Martin of Jacobs Creek, Pa.; three step daughters, Susan Berry of Clarksville, Pa., Debbie Berry of Waynesburg and Sandy Spencer of Greensboro; several grandchildren; four brothers, Donald Filby of Fort Pierce, Fla., James Filby of Cleveland, Ohio, Ernest Filby (Charlotte) of Chardon, Ohio an Louis Filby of Espyville, Pa.; two sisters, Eva Mae Filby of Cleveland and Audry Duke of Mather, Pa. and several nieces and nephews. Deceased are a son Duane Martin; a sister, Lily Ewart; the mother of his children, Florence Filby; a step-son Blaine Martin and a son-in-law, Thomas McChesney.

There will be no public viewing and all arrangements are private.
