Eileen M. Metcalf, 88, of Greensboro, Pa., passed away at 10:20 P.M. on Monday, May 11, 2020 at the Madison Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, Morgantown, W. Va. She was born December 11, 1931 in Ivydale, W. Va., a daughter of the late Harry C. and Mamie R. (Rhodes) Nicholas. Mrs. Metcalf resided in Greensboro most of her life and worked as a nurses aide at the West Virginia University Hospital. She enjoyed bowling, singing church hymns and was an avid bingo player and supporter of the Greensboro-Monongahela Township Volunteer Fire Company. Mrs. Metcalf cherished the company of her family, especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren. On August 16, 1948, she married Oliver "Gene" Metcalf, who died August 20, 2010.

Surviving are two sons, Curtis L. Metcalf (Elizabeth) of Apopka, Fla. and Dennis M. Metcalf (Theresa Helton) of Dilliner, Pa.; two daughters, Anna Jean Laucher (Robert) of Roanoke, Va. and Brenda K. Debolt Spruill (Ricky) of Bruceton Mills, W. Va.; eight grandchildren, Robert Scott Laucher (Christa), Eric Allen Laucher (Meggan), Tanya Marie Palone (Brad), Jason Gene Debolt (Angela), Chastity Kapinsky, Elliott T. Metcalf (Bobbi), Dylan J. Metcalf (Rachelle) and Caitlin Bailey (Rob); several great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Deceased are three brothers Donald Nicholas, Weldon Nicholas and Darrell Nicholas and a sister, who died in childhood.
Due to current CDC guidelines, there will be no public viewing.
Family and friends are welcome to attend a graveside service at 11:00 A.M. on Saturday, May 16, 2020 at Monongahela Hill Cemetery, Mapletown, Pa. with the Rev. John Waters officiating.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that memorial contributions be made to the Greensboro-Monongahela Township Volunteer Fire Company, PO Box 291, Greensboro, PA 15338.
