Ernest A. "Thumper" Loar, 61, of Carmichaels, Pa., died at 7:30 A.M. on Friday, July 20, 2018 at the Donnell House, Washington, Pa. following a two year battle with cancer. He was born April 16, 1957 in Cleveland, Ohio, a son of Fay M. (Bowman) Loar of Carmichaels and the late Ernest E. Loar. Ernest was a graduate of Carmichaels Area High School and received an associates degree from California College for Health Sciences in Respiratory Therapy. He was employed with the Caring Mission and TCM Home Health. Thumper enjoyed playing golf, attending car shows, drag racing and cruising in his 1968 Chevelle. Most of all, he cherished spending time with family and friends. According to his family, "He never met a stranger and his infectious smile could light up the room."
On June 28, 2013, he married Tammy R. Basiorka, who survives. Also surviving are his son, Adam Loar and his wife, Tiffany, of Rices Landing, Pa.; a daughter, Ashley Loar of Mather, Pa.; a stepdaughter, Kelsey Basiorka of Carmichaels; three grandchildren, Tomi Loar, Andi Loar and Khloe Hutchinson; a brother, Wendell "Smokey" Loar and his wife, Chylene, of Clarksville, Pa.; two nieces, Tasha Harden and Sydnee Loar and a nephew Austin Loar.
Family and friends are welcome from 7 to 9 P.M. on Sunday and 2 to 4 P.M. and 7 to 9 P.M. on Monday in the Yoskovich Funeral Home, Carmichaels where a funeral service will be held 11:00 A.M. on Tuesday, July 24, 2018 with Pastor Nick Bardo officiating. Interment will follow in Laurel Point Cemetery, Carmichaels.
