Evelynn "Edie" Edwards, 81, of Carmichaels, Pa. and formerly of Dickson, Tenn., passed away on Friday, April 5, 2024 at the Uniontown Hospital. She was born February 19, 1943 in Flint, Mich., a daughter of the late Lester H. and Evelyn B. (Slaughter) Chapman. Evelynn was a faithful and mighty woman who believed in the power of the Holy Spirit. She had a generous heart and was always willing to help those in need. Evelynn had a passion for woodworking and enjoyed creating beautiful creative designs. She loved playing the piano and singing southern gospel music. Evelynn was adored by her family and friends. She was a valued member of the Acts Shop in Carmichaels and also enjoyed driving school bus for the McGuffey and the West Green School Districts. Throughout the years, Evelynn worked as a graphic designer and was involved in many projects including creating t-shirts that someone wanted especially made and designed for LK Corporation LLC. She always wanted to be creative and to bless people with her creativity.
Evelynn was a loving and caring mother who always put her children first and strived to provide for them through the years. She adored her grandchildren and great grandchildren and cherished spending time with her family and friends. Whether it was playing her favorite game Scrabble or a simple card game, she loved being around the people she loved.
Evelynn is survived by her son Rod Edwards and his wife, Sandy; daughter Tara Wilmoth and daughter LaDana Maurin and her husband Douglas; grandchildren Ryan Edwards (Holly), Brendon Edwards (Janessa), Cory Wilmoth, Summer Burgess (Ben), LaTisha Wilmoth, Kayla Wilmoth (Aaron), Justin Maurin (Ashley), Kaysee Lukacs (Tommy); great grandchildren, Landon and Laynee Edwards, Kinzley and Hadley Edwards, Kylie Wilmoth, Autumn, Brianna, Cody and Drew Burgess, Zander and Emerie Maurin, Bentley, Tolbert, Avery, Eliana, and Baylor Lukacs; sisters, Beth Weaver (Ron) and Lezlee Jones (Steven); brothers, Dane Chapman (Barbara) and Vaughn Chapman and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by a grandson Nathan Edwards; a granddaughter, Allison Edwards; a son-in-law, Steven Wilmoth; a brother-in-law, Edward Minder and a sister-in-law, Cindy Chapman.
Family and friends are welcome from 3 to 6 P.M. on Monday, April 8, 2024 in the Yoskovich Funeral Home, Carmichaels, Pa. The funeral service will follow the visitation at 6:00 P.M. on Monday.
A communion graveside service will be held at 10:00 A.M. on Tuesday, April 9, 2024 at Laurel Point Cemetery, Carmichaels.
