Florence B. Commons, 92, of Carmichaels, Pa., passed away on Thursday, January 27, 2022 at Country Meadows of South Hills, Bridgeville, Pa. She was born February 14, 1929 in Crucible, Pa., a daughter of the late Edward S. and Alice (Wasko) Bodish. Mrs. Commons was a 1947 graduate of Cumberland Township High School and resided most of her life in Cumberland Township. She was a member of the St. Paul Evangelical Lutheran Church in Carmichaels where she served on the altar guild and a member of the sewing circle. Mrs. Commons was always concerned for the care and welfare of others. She enjoyed baking and was known for her pepperoni rolls. Mrs. Commons was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. On December 6, 1947, she married George M. Commons, who died August 27, 1981.
Surviving are a son, Edward C. Commons (Becky) of Carmichaels; a daughter, Sharon C. Arter (James) of Bethel Park, Pa. and four grandchildren, Dania Fortunato (Ken), Doria Rychtarsky, Rev. James Arter, III (Elizabeth) and Kristin Arter.
Family and friends are welcome from 11:00 A.M. until 1:00 P.M., the hour of service on Monday, January 31, 2022 in the Yoskovich Funeral Home, Carmichaels, Pa. The Rev. James Arter, III will officiate.
Interment will follow at Greene County Memorial Park.
The family suggests that memorial contributions be made to St. Paul Evangelical Lutheran Church, 224 South Market Street, Carmichaels, PA 15320.
