Gary L. Stevenson

Gary Lewis Stevenson, 74, of Greensboro, Pa., passed away on Friday, January 30, 2026. He was born on January 6, 1952, in Brownsville, Pennsylvania, the son of the late Donald N. and Ruth Ann (Johnson) Stevenson.

In 1969, Gary graduated from Frazier High School. He then went on to earn a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering from Penn State University. He spent his professional life as an electrical engineer, a career that spanned many years until his retirement from the Cumberland Mine in 2011. Gary shared 51 wonderful years with his beloved wife, Holly (Barb) Stevenson, whom he wed on August 3, 1974.

Gary was a member of the Mapletown Methodist Church. In his spare time, he enjoyed getting out for a round of golf, watching movies, and in true black and gold fashion, watching all of the Pittsburgh sports teams, as well as his Nittany Lions. However, nothing brought him greater joy than being a grandfather. Whether it was baseball, basketball, football, soccer, or a dance recital, he was there front and center to cheer them on. Gary cherished his family and would drop everything if they needed him.

In addition to his wife, Gary leaves behind his son, Brian Stevenson of Harrisburg, Pa.; daughters, Sara Parker (Bill) and Erin Stevenson, both of Greensboro; grandchildren, Christopher and Brayden Stevenson, and Matthew and Kara Parker; siblings, Donna Hatalowich (Michael) of Mount Pleasant, David Stevenson (Janet) of Lutz, Fla., and Glen Stevenson (Jenni) of Adamsburg, Pa.; sister-in-law, Joy Born (Robert) of Greensboro, and several nieces and nephews.

Family and friends are welcome from 2:00-4:00 P.M. & 6:00-8:00 P.M. on Thursday, February 5, 2026, in the Yoskovich Funeral Home, Inc., Carmichaels, Pa. A funeral service will be held in the funeral home at 11:00 A.M. on Friday, February 6, 2026, with Pastor Lanfer Simpson officiating. Interment will follow at Monongahela Hill Cemetery.
