George "Yuta" Demchak

George "Yuta" Edward Demchak, 73, of Rices Landing, formerly of Clarksville, passed away on Thursday, May 28, 2026. Born on February 18, 1953, in Waynesburg, he was the son of the late Andrew and Anne (Rumancik) Demchak.

George grew up in Crucible, and was a graduate of Carmichaels Area High School. He worked at the Emerald Mine in Waynesburg until his retirement in 2014. He was a member of the United Mine Workers of America. In 1995, he wed his beloved wife, Betty Nicholas-Demchak.

George took pleasure in walking his dog, traveling, and golfing with his friends. He enjoyed watching football, particularly Penn State, and wouldn't pass on an opportunity to attend a game.

Left to cherish George's memory, in addition to his wife, is his daughter, Joelle Spotswood (Jerry) of Emporia, Kansas; grandson, Jason Spotswood; brother, Michael Demchak (Laura) of Crucible, and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Robert and Tommy Demchak.

Family and friends are welcome from 2:00 to 4:00 P.M. and 6:00 to 8:00 P.M. on Wednesday, June 3, 2026, at Yoskovich Funeral Home, Inc., Carmichaels. A blessing service will be held at 10:30 A.M. on Thursday, June 4, 2026 in the funeral home. Interment will follow at Greene County Memorial Park.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial donations be made to the Humane Society of Greene County, Pa.
