George E. Kelley, 82, of Greensboro, Pa., passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, May 3, 2023 in his home. He was born July 24, 1940 in Monongahela Township, Greene County, Pa., a son of the late Donald M. And Velma M. (Kostura) Kelley. George was a 1959 graduate of Mapletown High School and served in the U. S. Army during the Vietnam Era. He had been employed at the Duquesne Light Warwick Mine and was a member of the St. Matthias Parish and the United Mine Workers of America. George resided most of his life in Greene County and enjoyed playing his banjo with several local bands. Surviving are a brother, John C. Kelley (Ruby) of Northampton, Pa. and several nieces and nephews. Deceased are two brothers, Stephen B. D. Joseph Kelley and Theodore D. Kelley and a sister, Debbie M. Kelley. There will be no public viewing and interment will be private. The family suggests that memorial contributions be made to Tunnels to Towers Foundation or to Wounded Warrior Project.
