Geraldine “Jeanie” Catherine Palone was called home to the Lord on Friday, October 16, 2026, at the age of 87. She was born on May 31, 1939, in Clarksville, to the late Wilbur Eugene Swartz, Sr. and Dora “Dotty” Catherine (Parrish) Swartz.

Jeanie was a 1957 graduate of Cumberland Township High School. She lived in the Dry Tavern and Carmichaels area all of her life, until spending the last 16 years living with her daughter in Washington. On April 10, 1960, she married her beloved husband, Marion “Butch” Palone, Jr. Together they shared 54 wonderful years until his passing on November 3, 2014.

Jeanie built a life rooted in her faith, family, and hard work. She co-owned and operated Palone’s Auto Sales, Inc. in Dry Tavern for 50 years. She was a charter member of the First Christian Church in Carmichaels and taught Sunday School for 40 years. She was known as a mother to everyone and was cherished by all who knew her. She treasured her granddaughters and took great pride in her family.

At home and at family gatherings, she was the beloved cook and baker.  She was famous for her meatballs, and her potato salad became a staple at showers and funeral luncheons. She found joy in horseback riding and loved watching her sons race their horses. She was active in the Washington Senior Center, where she enjoyed time spent with her friends.

Left to cherish her memory are her children, David M. Palone (Bethann), Michael A. Palone and Regina M. Palone (John), all of Washington; granddaughters, Hannah Palone (Sage Grego), Alana Palone, and Sophie Palone; great-grandchildren, Asher and Blakelyn Grego; sister, Sara Ann Bradmon (Howard) of Rices Landing; sister-in-law, Jean Swartz of Warren; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Wilbur E. “Pete” Swartz, Jr., and sister, Regina Kay Swartz.

Family and friends are welcome from 5:00 to 8:00 P.M. on Monday, October 19, 2026, at Yoskovich Funeral Home, Inc., Carmichaels. A funeral service will be held in the funeral home on Tuesday, October 20, 2026, at 1:00 P.M. with Rev. Reagan Fike officiating. Interment will follow at Greene County Memorial Park.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions be made to the First Christian Church, 235 S. Market St., Carmichaels, PA 15320.
