Geraldine C. Meese, 94, of Greensboro, Pa., passed away on Wednesday, July 1, 2020 in Rolling Meadows Rehabilitation Center, Waynesburg, Pa. She was born December 4, 1925 in Greensboro, the daughter of the late Harry W. "Bob" and Lillian (Simpson) Hawk. Mrs. Meese was a graduate of Mapletown High School. Upon graduation, she went to Detroit to work in a manufacturing plant making aircraft parts in support of the war effort. On returning to Greensboro, Mrs. Meese became a homemaker and worked in the health care industry as a nurse's aide and a licensed practical nurse. She had been employed at the Greene County Memorial Hospital and Palone's Nursing Home in Crucible. On July 2, 1948, she married Howard Meese, who preceded her in death.

Mrs. Meese is survived by her daughters, Melinda Johnson (Keith) of Winchester Va., Melissa Holcombe (Ron) of Redlands Cal.; sons, Timothy Meese of Greensboro and Vaughn Meese (Janet) of Beaufort, S.C.; sister-in-law, Mary Hawk of Waynesburg; seven grandchildren; seven great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by two sons, Kevin Lee Meese and Mark Allen Meese; a brother, Samuel D. Hawk and an infant sister.

Family and friends are welcome to gather from 1:30 until 2:00 P.M. on Saturday, July 25, 2020 in the Yoskovich Funeral Home, Carmichaels, Pa. in order to process at 2:00 P.M. to the Monongahela Hill Cemetery, Mapletown, Pa. for a graveside service and committal of her cremains.
