James A. Minor, 78, of Greensboro, Pa., passed away at 9:24 A.M. on Friday, November 26, 2021 at Mon Health Medical Center, Morgantown, W. Va. after a long battle with cancer. He was born October 18, 1943 in Waynesburg, Pa., a son of the late Arlie and Mary (Stevenson) Minor. Mr. Minor served in the U. S. Army during the Vietnam Era and was a member of the Mapletown United Methodist Church. Being active in many community organizations, Mr. Minor was a 50 year member of Valley Lodge No. 459, F. & A. M., Masontown, Pa., a member of the Uniontown Lodge of Perfection and the Scottish Rite Bodies in the Valley of Pittsburgh. He owned and operated Minor's Antiques in Greensboro since 1980. On July 11, 1964, he married Carol K. Hockin, who survives. Also surviving are two sons, James R. Minor (Kristin) of Fuquay-Varina, N.C. and Matthew Minor (Ronda) of Holly Springs, N. C.; a daughter, Malinda Forsberg (Jarett) of Fuquay-Varina; five grandchildren, J. D. Minor, Kaitlyn Minor, Nathan Forsberg, Madison Minor and Caden Minor; a sister, Carol Elnikar of Streetsboro, Ohio and several nieces and nephews. Family and friends are welcome from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 P.M. on Monday in the Yoskovich Funeral Home, Carmichaels, Pa. where the funeral service will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Tuesday, November 30, 2021. The Rev. Kenneth Haines will officiate. Interment will follow at Monongahela Hill Cemetery, Mapletown, Pa. with military honors accorded by the Greene County Honor Guard. Valley Lodge No. 459, F. & A. M. will conduct Masonic Services at 7:30 P.M. on Monday. The family suggests that memorial contributions be made to the Mapletown United Methodist Church, P.O. Box 502, Greensboro, PA 15338 or to the American Cancer Society.
