Janet Ann Maddich

January 31, 1934 — May 20, 2025

Rices Landing

Janet Ann Maddich, 91, of Rices Landing, went to be with the Lord on May 20, 2025. Born on January 31, 1934, to the late L. Vincent and Mary (Gallagher) Collins, Janet spent her youth in German Township before moving to Rices Landing. She married her beloved, late husband, Nick "Chick" Maddich, in September of 1951.

Janet spent her career as a teller at Mellon Bank, PNC and First Federal of Greene County. After retiring, she continued working at both Traders and Weyerhaeuser. Janet was a faithful member of Sacred Heart, serving as the bookkeeper for Rev. Francis A. Nazimek. She was quite the bookworm, often finding herself immersed in four to five books at a time. She also enjoyed ceramics. Janet will be remembered for her talents in the kitchen, as she was both a wonderful cook and baker. Her affection for animals was apparent through her love for her own dogs. Janet especially loved traveling with her husband. Their adventures took them to Puerto Rico, Mexico, Florida, and various other destinations across the country.

Left to carry on her memory are son, Nick Maddich (Kas) of Lowhill, Pa.; daughters, Janet Clifford (Greg) of Palm Bay, Florida, and Kathleen Wydo (Frank) of Uniontown, Pa.; six grandchildren, Michelle, Mark, Jason, Brian, Nicole, and Christopher; fourteen great-grandchildren; sisters, Bernnie Danko of Cleveland, Ohio and Kay Shimshock (Dick) of Houston, Texas; and several nieces and nephews.

Along with her parents and husband, Janet was preceded in death by her sister and brother, Loretta Collins and Thomas Vincent Collins.

A special thank you to the staff at Beechwood Court for the care of our mother. A special thank you to Amedisys Hospice Care, and the loving care she received from Miranda and Tora.

All arrangements are private.
