Janice Louise Marchitello, 86, of Canonsburg, passed away on Saturday, June 27, 2026, with her son, Dan, by her side. She was born on March 25, 1940 in Canonsburg, to the late John A. Barbour, Jr. and Katherine J. (McNamara) Barbour.

Janice was a graduate of Canonsburg High School, Class of 1958. She worked as a dietary services manager for South Hills Convalescent Center (Beverly Enterprises) for over 25 years.  Over the last 15+ years, she worked as a part-time receptionist at McMurray Hills Manor.  On September 10, 1961, she married the love of her life, the late Daniel C. Marchitello.

A lover of the black and gold, Janice never missed a Sunday, Monday, or Thursday night date with her boys, the Pittsburgh Steelers.  She also enjoyed watching Pitt basketball and football. Her absolute favorite hobby was shopping. She enjoyed reading, and playing games with her girlfriends. Living just about her entire life in Canonsburg, the Canonsburg 4th of July parade was a must each year. Christmas was her holiday, she loved everything about it.  She gifted the best toiletry stockings, setting up her kids and grandkids with everything they could need for the new year.

Surviving are her sons, Drew A. Marchitello of Wilmington, N.C., and Daniel J. Marchitello (Melissa) of Bentleyville; grandchildren, Kylie Zmijowski (Marc), Jordan Marchitello, Brooke Marchitello, and Mackenzie Earlywine (Dustin); great-grandchildren, Calli Marchitello, Monroe Zmijowski, and Evie Earlywine; sister, Cathy Donella; nephews, Craig Uram (Becky), Dave Uram (Marcy) and Greg Pareso (Monica); niece, Tracy Ellis (John), and many dear friends.

In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by her sister, Judith A. Uram; brothers-in-law, David Uram and Robert Donella; nephew, Brian Uram; and her three loyal canine companions, Benji, Cheesy, and Little Miss Mindy.

A memorial service will take place at a later date. All arrangements are entrusted to Yoskovich Funeral Home, Inc., Carmichaels, Pa.
