Joan Bridget Ianelli

Joan Bridget Ianelli, 69, of Rices Landing, passed away on Tuesday, March 31, 2026. She was born on November 15, 1956, in Mineola, New York, the daughter of the late James & Jacquelyn (Foltz) Cordell.

Joan was a 1973 graduate of Plain View High School in Plainview, N.Y. On September 12, 2004, she wed Steven Dominick Ianelli. 

Joan was Catholic by faith. She had a love for photography, with a fondness for capturing birds and butterflies. She enjoyed gardening, especially tending to her roses that she loved so much.

In addition to her beloved husband, she is survived by her sons, Joseph Martiello (Angela) of Shirley, N.Y., and Christopher Martiello of Warner, N.H.; stepson, Douglas Ianelli of Watertown, N.Y.; stepdaughter, Lisa Ianelli of Shirley, N.Y.; grandchildren, Tiffany Haubrich, Cristina Martiello, Julianna Martiello, Luna Martiello, and Allison Ianelli; brother, Brian Cordell of Holbrook, N.Y.; niece, Jennifer Koolen, and nephew, Brandon Cordell.

In addition to her parents, Joan was preceded in death by her brother, Patrick Cordell.

A memorial gathering will take place from 10:00 A.M. to 12:00 P.M. on Wednesday, April 8, 2026, in Roma Funeral Home, Shirley, New York. Inurnment will follow at Calverton National Cemetery, Wading River, New York.
