John Alvin Stoneking, 76, of Greensboro, Pa., passed away at 8:58 P.M. on Saturday, May 8, 2021 at the J. W. Ruby Memorial Hospital, Morgantown, W. Va. He was born July 1, 1944 in Griffitsville, W. Va., a son of the late John M. and Juanita (Roberts) Stoneking. Mr. Stoneking retired in 2006 as a tow motor operator from Parker-Hannifin Corporation, Willowick, Ohio. He enjoyed shooting pool and was a member of the Bobtown Polish Club and a social member of American Legion Post 992, Mount Morris, Pa. and Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 6303, Greensboro.
Surviving are a brother, Kenneth G. Stoneking (Paula) of Mount Morris; a sister, Teresa A. Pierce (Ray) of Willoughby, Ohio and several nieces and nephews. Deceased are a sister, Carolyn Serrano and a nephew, Kenneth G. Stoneking, Jr.
Family and friends are welcome from 5 to 7 P.M. on Wednesday, May 12, 2021 in the Yoskovich Funeral Home, Carmichaels, Pa.
The funeral service will follow the visitation at 7:00 P.M. with the Rev. Gale Cobb officiating.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that memorial contributions be made to a veterans service organization of the donor's choice.
