Joseph Ray Carter, 55, of Waynesburg, Pa., passed away at 2:24 A.M. on Monday, July 5, 2021 at the Donnell House, Washington, Pa. He was born November 6, 1965 in Chicago, Ill., a son of Elden "Dan" Carter of Rogersville, Pa. and Dorthea E. (Roger) Huggins of Waynesburg. Mr. Carter was a graduate of West Greene High School and resided in Waynesburg most of his life. He worked as a mechanic for Ross Tractor Sales in Waynesburg until his recent illness. Mr. Carter enjoyed Ford trucks and listening to country music.
Surviving are two daughters, Kayla Myers (Shawn) of Fairmont, W. Va. and Rebecca Day (Chas) of Waynesburg; six grandchildren, Alex, Emily, Cameron, Aubrey, Hunter and Carter; two brothers, Michael R. Carter of Utica, Ohio and Terry L. Huggins of Waynesburg; two sisters, Vicky Carter of Bobtown, Pa. and Tammy Layton (Tracy) of Core, W. Va. and several nieces and nephews. Deceased are a brother, Phillip D. Carter and a sister, Cindy L. Altizer.
Family and friends are welcome from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 P.M. on Thursday, July 8, 2021 in the Yoskovich Funeral Home, Carmichaels, Pa.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that memorial contributions be made to the American Cancer Society .
