Karen Morrow Simkovic

Karen Morrow Simkovic, 61 of Peoria, Ariz. and formerly of Carmichaels, Pa. went to be with her Lord on Friday, May 24, 2019 after over a yearlong battle with cancer. Karen was born on November 27, 1957 in Uniontown, Pa., a daughter Florence Angelo Morrow of New Salem, Pa. and the late Patsy Robert Morrow, Sr. The second of three children, she grew up in Masontown, Pa. and graduated from Albert Gallatin High School at Friendship Hill in 1976. Karen met her husband Tom at a restaurant and the two were married on July 11, 1998. She was a parishioner of both St. Hugh Roman Catholic Church in Carmichaels and St. Thomas Parish in Glendale, Ariz. Karen had a love for her career and enjoyed working for Dr. Evan Williams at his dental practice in Carmichaels where she was employed for over 16 years before retiring to Arizona. She had a passion for life, her family, gardening and baking. Karen was an involved member of the church, donating her time to deliver food to the homeless shelters and volunteering on election days at the polls.

Karen is survived by her husband, Thomas L. Simkovic of Peoria, Ariz., a daughter, Angela Rector and husband, Jim of Morgantown, W. Va., a son, Daniel Lasko of Pittsburgh and a stepdaughter, Randi Bustamante and husband, Toribio of Glendale; three grandchildren, Julia Bustamante, Toribio Bustamante and Andres Bustamante; two brothers, Patsy R. Morrow, Jr. and wife, Cindy of Garards Fort, Pa. and Charles A. Morrow and wife, Carla of Leckrone, Pa. and six nieces and nephews.

Family and friends are welcome from 6 to 8 P.M. on Saturday and 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 P.M. on Sunday in the Yoskovich Funeral Home, Carmichaels, Pa. where a blessing service will be held at 10:30 A.M. on Monday, June 3, 2019 followed at 11:00 A.M. by a Mass of the Resurrection in St. Hugh Roman Catholic Church with the Rev. J. Francis Frazer as celebrant.

Interment will follow in St. Mary's Cemetery, Crucible, Pa.
