With great sorrow and bittersweet gratitude, the Bodnovich and Brumley families announce the passing of our loving, respected, caring and unimaginably faithful father, grandfather, and great-grandfather.
Kenneth Paul Bodnovich, 89, of Gallatin, Tenn. and formerly of Greensboro, Pa., passed peacefully surrounded by his beloved family on Saturday, March 1, 2025. Born on April 14, 1935, to John and Anna (Shimko) Bodnovich, Ken lived a life full of purpose and love, leaving behind a remarkable legacy that will continue to inspire those who knew him.
In addition to his parents, Ken was preceded in death by his wife of 68 years, Doris "Dodo" (Wiltrout) Bodnovich and two brothers Jack and Bill.
Ken's greatest joy was his family that he built with his high school sweetheart, Dodo, who he adored until her passing in December of 2024. Their love story, built on mutual respect, and devotion, will live on in the memories of all who witnessed their bond. Together, they created a home filled with laughter, wisdom, and love—a true testament to the power of partnership. Their beautiful family included children, Kenny (Beth), Kerry (LuAnn), and Kara (David); grandchildren Kerry Lee (Bri), Kayla, Karson (Shannon), Krissy, Kolton, Karter, Kolby, Kooper and Kenzie; and great grandchildren Kennedy and Konnor. The family created countless memories together through the years. From coaching his sons in Greensboro Little League, hosting friends at their backyard pool, or traveling to visit grandchildren, Ken thrived on time with family and loved ones.
Ken grew up with a deep sense of duty and honor, values that would guide him throughout his life. He proudly served in the United States Air Force, where his bravery and commitment to his country left an indelible mark on those who served alongside him.
After his time in the military, Ken embarked on a long and successful career with The American General Life Insurance Company, where he was known for his integrity, work ethic, and genuine care for his clients. Ken retired from American General after almost 40 years, but soon found himself a retirement career with Advanced Autoparts. He greatly enjoyed his second career there, as he was able to dabble in his love for cars. In all of his roles, his ability to connect with others and make them feel valued was a testament to his kind heart and dedication.
A devout member of the Catholic church, Ken's faith was central to his life. He was a dedicated parish volunteer as a lector, Parish Council member and church festival worker. His commitment to his community and church was a reflection of his strong moral compass and desire to serve others.
In his later years, Ken found great joy in winemaking. He spent countless hours with his wife perfecting the craft and sharing their homemade wine with friends and family. His wines were more than just beverages—they were an expression of his appreciation for the finer things in life.
Ken will be remembered for his dedication to his family, his deep faith and his unwavering kindness to all. Though he is no longer with us, his spirit lives on in the hearts of his children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and all who had the privilege of knowing him.
Rest in peace, Dad. You will forever be in our hearts.
