It is with deep sorrow and much love that we mourn the passing of Kimberly Crawford, of Morgantown, W. Va., who left us peacefully on July 2, 2024. She was born January 5, 1957 a daughter of the late Olan Pete and Sarah Jane (Wilson) Johnson. A nurturer and caretaker, Kimberly's greatest joy in life was her family. She leaves behind a legacy of love, particularly cherished by her beloved grandchildren, Adryanna, Matthew, and Isabella. Kimberly's face would light up at the mere mention of their names, and her heart swelled with pride at their accomplishments and dreams.
Kimberly is survived by her loving son, Cliff Crawford, and his wife, Tiffany DeCarlo, along with their three children. She also leaves behind her cherished siblings: Iila Matz (husband Vince deceased), Paula Stoneking (husband Kenneth Sr.), Diane Layton (husband George deceased), and her only brother Duane "DJ" Johnson. Her family circle extended too many nieces, nephews, and cousins, each of whom held a special place in her heart. Additionally, she leaves behind a dear and close family friend, Dave Tennant.
Kimberly's life was rich with relationships. She found immense joy in the company of her siblings, cherishing every moment spent together. The bond they shared was a testament to her deep sense of family and loyalty.
In recent years, Kimberly faced the profound heartache of losing her dear husband Sheldon Crawford, after forty-six wonderful years of marriage, to whom she married June 19, 1976. Their love story was one of enduring commitment and deep affection, a beacon of true partnership. Despite this devastating loss, Kimberly's resilient spirit shone brightly. She found solace and a new sense of community at Friendship Manor in Morgantown, WV, where she was welcomed with open arms.
At Friendship Manor, Kimberly quickly became a beloved member, known for her infectious humor, her ready willingness to lend a helping hand, and her exceptional baking talents. Her homemade strawberry cheesecake and famous banana nut bread and muffins were more than just treats; they were symbols of her love and generosity, bringing comfort and joy to all who tasted them.
Kimberly's friends at Friendship Manor remember her not only for her culinary delights but for her unwavering spirit and the warmth she brought to every interaction. Her laughter, kindness, and the joy she spread will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her.
Kimberly was preceded in death by her sisters Shirley Schinke, Leslie Jones, Pauletta Johnson, Melody Johnson, and Juanita Wade, along with nephew Kenneth Stoneking Jr., niece Mindy Roth, and her favorite Aunt Sis. As we say goodbye to Kimberly, we hold on to the many beautiful memories she has left us. Her legacy of love, kindness, and delicious baked goods will live on in our hearts forever.
A celebration of life for both Kimberly and Sheldon Crawford will be held at a later date, which is to be determined. Kimberly was cremated and will be buried with Sheldon's cremains at Highland Cemetery in Mount Morris, PA. Rest in peace, Kimberly. You have left an indelible mark on all our lives, and we are eternally grateful for the time we had with you.
