Larry Sutton, 75, of Carmichaels, Pa., passed away at 11:36 A.M. on Tuesday, May 17, 2022 in the Uniontown Hospital, Uniontown, Pa., after a lengthy illness. He was born December 21, 1946 in Pittsburgh, Pa., a son of the late Lawrence Clifton and Betty Jane (Heller) Sutton. Larry served with the U. S. Navy during the Vietnam Era. He served as chaplain and member of the honor guard for Cumberland American Legion Post 400 and was also a member of Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 3491. Larry worked as a policeman for the Winter Haven, Fla. Police Department, as a corrections officer for the Bartow Jail in Bartow, Fla. and also as a deputy sheriff for the Polk County Florida Sheriff's Department. His longest career was working as a car salesman in Florida. Larry resided in Carmichaels for the past 12 years. On May 11, 1984, he married Barbara E. DeCooman, who survives. Also surviving are a step son, William Watson (Jodi) of Belle Vernon, Pa. a step granddaughter, Rachel Watson and several nieces and nephews. Deceased is a step daughter, Tammy Barkey and his step father, Rudy Rehak. There will be no public viewing. The family suggests that memorial contributions be made to American Legion Post 400, 205 E. George St., Carmichaels, PA 15320.
