Leila Jane Gray

Leila Jane Gray of Orrtanna, Pa., formerly of Carmichaels, passed away on Wednesday, November 5, 2025, at the age of 90. Born on October 4, 1935, in Carmichaels, Jane was the daughter of the late Robert and Ruby (Stockdale) Gideon.

Jane was a 1953 graduate of Carmichaels High School. On September 15, 1957, she married Franklin Leroy Gray. The two shared 54 years together until his passing on November 13, 2011. Jane devoted her life to her home and her family. She was a former member of Greene Valley Presbyterian Church in Carmichaels. In her spare time, Jane enjoyed crocheting and crafting. She especially took pleasure in hunting down old furniture and bringing it home for Frank to restore.

Jane's memory will be cherished by her sons: Jeffery R. Gray (Sharon) of Orrtanna, Pa., Gregory M. Gray (Suzanne) of Cape Coral, Fl., and Shawn E. Gray of Cary, N.C.; her daughter, Joann K. "Kelly" Thornton of Hanover, Md.; grandchildren, Erica Groskopf (Charles), Jonathan Thornton (Paige), and Matthew Thornton; great grandchildren, Amber, Amanda, Cody, and Kaylee Thornton; brother, Richard Gideon (Katherine) of Pittsburgh, and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her beloved husband and parents, she was preceded in death by her son-in-law, Pat Thornton.

Family and friends are welcome from 4:00-8:00 P.M. on Thursday, November 13, 2025 at Yoskovich Funeral Home, Inc., Carmichaels. A funeral service will be held in the funeral home at 12:30 P.M. on Friday, November 14, 2025, with Pastor Andrew Freed officiating. Interment will follow at Laurel Point Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Jane's memory to the American Cancer Society.
