Lucille D. Sova, 92, formerly of Rices Landing, Pa., passed away on Tuesday, September 10, 2024. She was born October 28, 1931 in Sanford, N. C., a daughter of the late James and Martha (Shields) Spivey. Mrs. Sova was a former member of the Women's Auxiliary of Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 3491 in Carmichaels, Pa. She enjoyed fishing, gardening, searching for gem stones, canning and cooking. In 1973, she married Donald R. Sova, who died December 22, 2017.
Surviving are three sons, Franklin G. Darroch of Durham, N. C., Charles W. Darroch (Bonnie) of Carmichaels and James E. Darroch (Kay) of Newport News, Va.; a daughter, Donna J. Shaffer (John) of Miami, Fla.; four step sons, Donald J. Sova (Louise) of Waynesburg, Pa., Ronald R. Sova (Lisa Smith) of Reedsville, W. Va., Gregory P. Sova (Tracy) of Masontown, W. Va. and Shawn E. Sova (Lisa) of Washington, Pa.; two step daughters, Valorie L. Matthews of Dunn, N. C. and Suzanne M. Baker (Dea) of Carmichaels; 22 grandchildren; numerous great grandchildren and great great grandchildren; a brother, Lester Spivey of North Carolina and several nieces and nephews. Deceased are two brothers, Leon and J. W. and two sisters, May and Ruby.
Family and friends are welcome from 5 to 7 P.M. on Sunday in the Yoskovich Funeral Home, Martin J. Yoskovich, Funeral Director/Owner, Aaron S. Walker, Funeral Director, 300 South Vine Street, Carmichaels, Pa. where the funeral service will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Monday, September 16, 2024. Dr. Andrew Gump will officiate. Interment will follow at Greene County Memorial Park.
