Marcia Lynn Moore

February 11, 1967 — January 9, 2025

Marcia Hilverding Moore, age 57 of Waynesburg, Pa. passed away on January 9, 2025, in Waynesburg, Pa. peacefully after a life filled with music, laughter, and an enduring love for learning and adventure.

Born February 11, 1967, with an unshakable curiosity and a passion for the arts, Marcia’s love of music began early on. She played flute and piccolo, proudly performing for the WCHS band and the Pride of West Virginia WVU marching band and also played tenor saxophone in the high school stage band. Her love for classic rock, especially AC/DC and Led Zeppelin, was a lifelong soundtrack that brought joy to every corner of her life.

Marcia was an avid reader with an insatiable love of literature, which inspired her to study English and education at West Virginia University, obtaining a master’s degree in education.  She later went on to become a substitute teacher, over the road truck driver for Werner Trucking and was last employed at Veltri Trucking in Washington, Pa.

Her adventurous spirit shone brightest in her meticulous trip planning, especially to Disney World. Whether finding the perfect restaurant with a secret back entrance to see Elvis Costello or organizing routes and stays as a skilled truck driver, Marcia’s ability to create unforgettable experiences for those around her was unmatched.

Above all, Marcia was a devoted mother to Jonathon Hilverding and Rhiannon Moore, who are her greatest pride and joy. Her love for her family and friends was the thread that wove together the rich tapestry of her life, and her warmth and kindness touched everyone who knew her.

Marcia’s memory will live on in the music she loved the stories she cherished, and the countless lives she enriched. She will be deeply missed but forever remembered with love.

Marcia is survived by her children, Jonathon Hilverding and Rhiannon Moore both of Waynesburg; her sister Missy (Bryan) Ziots of Jefferson, Pa.; her beloved dog Coco, and several cousins. Deceased in addition to her parents Bill and Helen (Callahan) Hilverding are several aunts and uncles.

A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, June 14, 2025 from 1 to 3 p.m. at the Valley View Farm, 102 Orndorff Rd., Waynesburg, Pa. 15370.  Arrangements are under the direction of Yoskovich Funeral Home, Martin J. Yoskovich, FD/Owner and Aaron S. Walker, FD, 300 South Vine Street, Carmichaels, Pa.
