MaryLee Leneskie

February 17, 1937 — September 2, 2025

MaryLee Leneskie passed away on September 2, 2025, at the Worthington Christian Village in Columbus, Ohio, at the age of 88. She was born on February 17, 1937, in Centerville, Pennsylvania to the late Raymond Carl and Maurine (Burroughs) Phillips.

In 1954, MaryLee graduated from Mapletown High School. On February 18, 1955, she married her beloved John Adam Leneskie. Together they shared 36 wonderful years until his passing on October 5, 1991. MaryLee worked many jobs over the years. She was the secretary for Mapletown High School, worked for the Boy Scouts of America in Cleveland, Ohio, and served as a secretary for Duquesne Light Warwick Mine from 1969 until her retirement in 1990. She was an active member of the Mt. Morris Gospel Tabernacle.

MaryLee enjoyed both cooking and baking, and did just that for every wedding and funeral at her church until 2016 when she moved to Ohio to be closer to her family.  In her free time, you could find her working on a jigsaw puzzle, or spending time reading her Bible. She especially loved family gatherings; any excuse to bake a fresh batch of cookies to bring along for her loved ones.

MaryLee is survived by her son, Thomas A. Leneskie (Barbara) of Columbus, Ohio; grandchildren, Linsey Billings (Michael), Casi Leneskie, Lea Nichole Kotte (Aaron), and John Leneskie; great-grandchildren, Penny Kotte, Ginny Kotte, Amelia Leneskie, and Sophie Billings, as well as several nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by her son, Gary E. Leneskie; brothers, Raymond Carl Phillips, Jr. and Robert T. Phillips; and two sisters, Wanda Kratch and Kay "Evelyn" Tao.

A graveside service will be held at 1:00 P.M. on Wednesday, September 17, 2025 at Monongahela Hill Cemetery, 100 Stoney Hill Road, Greensboro, Pa. 15338, with Pastor Joe Adams of the Mt. Morris Gospel Tabernacle officiating.
