Melvin A. Mikalik, 54, of Carmichaels, Pa., passed away on Monday, August 29, 2022 at the home of his sister in Crucible, Pa. after a lengthy illness. He was born September 17, 1967 in Waynesburg, Pa., a son of the late John and Delores B. (Stencel) Mikalik. Melvin resided in Cumberland Township all of his life. He was a graduate of Carmichaels Area High School and a social member of Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 4391. Melvin worked for Miller Roofing in Washington, Pa. for 15 years before working at Wilson Forest Products, LLC in Jefferson for two years until his recent illness. He enjoyed attending car shows and listening to "oldies".
Surviving are a daughter, Crystal Grant (Steven) of Carmichaels; a grandson, Steven Grant; a brother, Michael J. Mikalik (Anna Marie) of Carmichaels; a sister, Beatrice Ann Livengood (companion, Jim Housel) of Crucible and several nieces and nephews.
Family and friends are welcome from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 P.M. on Thursday in the Yoskovich Funeral Home, Carmichaels, Pa. The funeral service will follow the visitation at 8:00 P.M. on Thursday, September 1, 2022 in the funeral home. Pastor Jeremy Parker will officiate.
A committal service will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Friday, September 2, 2022 at Monongahela Hill Cemetery, Mapletown, Pa.
The family suggests that memorial contributions be made to the American Cancer Society .
