Michael G. Skumlien

Michael G. Skumlien, 56, of Bobtown, Pa., passed away on Friday, March 21, 2025 at the J. W. Ruby Memorial Hospital, Morgantown, W. Va.  He was born March 20, 1969 in Mesa, Ariz., a son of Gary C. Skumlien of Burlington, Vt. and the late Jeanne M. (Tower) Chase (Ken).  Michael was a graduate of Chelsea High School in Chelsea, Vt. and he obtained an associates degree from Champlain College in Burlington, Vt.  He had worked as the manager for Eat'n Park in Morgantown, W. Va. and enjoyed fantasy football.  Michael's children were the "world" to him.  On June 28, 1999, he married Jennifer E. Hockin, who survives.

Also surviving are a daughter, Shasta Smith (David) of Morgantown; two sons, Stephen M. Skumlien and Timothy A. Skumlien, both at home; a brother, Mark G. Skumlien of Mesa, Ariz.; a sister, Melissa J. Adams of Essex Junction, Vt.; nieces and nephews, Jaime Adams, Jackson Adams, Isabella Garnek, Isaiah Garnek and Isaac Garnek; his father-in-law, David Hockin; sisters-in-law, Jessica Garnek (Bo) and Hannah Hockin and a favorite cousin, Tammy Barnett.  Deceased is his mother-in-law, Sharon Hockin.

There will be no public viewing and arrangements are private.

The family requests that memorial donations be made to the American Cancer Society .
