Norma J. (Babb) Kutney, 83, of North Canton, Ohio, and formerly of Bobtown, Pa., passed away Sunday, December 9, 2018 at Altercare Nobles Pond, Canton, Ohio following an extended illness. She was born May 29, 1935 in Bobtown, the daughter of the late John Edward and Luella Irene (Black) Babb. Mrs. Kutney was a graduate of Mapletown High School, Greensboro, Pa. where she was a cheerleader, a member of Try Hi Y and the chorus. After graduation, she worked for America Fore Insurance Group in Cleveland, Ohio. Mrs. Kutney moved to Valdosta, Ga. with her husband, Edward, who was stationed in the U. S. Air Force and later to Essex, Md. to work for the Martin Company. She resided in Germany from 1959 until 1965 and, upon her return to the States, she worked for Victor Temporaries and as an Avon representative. Later, Mrs. Kutney worked for the Babcock & Wilcox Company for 25 years until her retirement in 1998.
Surviving are two daughters, Charmaine M. Kutney of Lewis Center, Ohio and Theresa A. Marulli, of Canton, Ohio; a sister, Barbara E. Babb of Bobtown; two brothers, Ronald R. Babb and his wife, Marie, of Dilliner, Pa. and Gary A. Babb and his wife, Clara, of Bobtown; a dear cousin, Rita Reuse; three sisters-in-law, Ruth Ann Babb, Florence Jakubick and Irene Long; two former sons-in-Iaw, Don Myles and John Marulli and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers, James A. Babb and John E. "Jack" Babb, Jr. and her former husband, Edward R. Kutney.
The family extends a special thanks to Crossroads Hospice for their care and compassion.
Family and friends are welcome from 10:00 A.M. until Noon, the hour of service, on Saturday, December 15, 2018, in the Yoskovich Funeral Home, Carmichaels, Pa. Pastor Joseph Weaver will officiate.
Interment will follow at Greene County Memorial Park.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that memorial contributions be made to either the American Heart Association or to the American Diabetes Association.
