Orpha Jean Beatty Strube

July 12, 1927 — December 29, 2024

Orpha Jean Beatty Strube, age 97, went home to be with her Lord on Sunday, December 29, 2024, at her home in Leesburg, Indiana.  She was born July 12, 1927 in Ronco, Pennsylvania, a daughter of the late Robert and Martha Mae (Yates) Beatty.  Mrs. Strube was a graduate of German Township High School in 1946. On June 27, 1946, she married Herman Strube, who passed away on December 3, 2008.

She was a past member of Greene Valley Presbyterian Church in Carmichaels, PA, where she was active as a Deaconess, Women In The Church, Ladies’ Bible Study, and the church Dartball Team.  More recently, she attended the Milford First Brethren Church while living with her son and daughter-in-law in Indiana.

Mrs. Strube worked as a seamstress at the Hubbard Shoe Company, Carmichaels, and the Greenway Manufacturing clothing factory, Nemacolin, for 20 years. She deeply treasured her family, and was an excellent cook and baker. She also enjoyed crocheting, gardening, cake decorating, and playing piano. Mrs. Strube loved all of her family very much, but especially loved all of her grandchildren and kept in constant contact with each of them. She will forever be remembered for her gift of hospitality, which blessed many people through her delicious homemade baked goods and meals.

Surviving are two sons, James (Lizbeth) Strube of Leesburg, Indiana, and Mark (Tammy) Strube of Carlisle, PA; nine grandchildren, Jennifer (Brock) Liggitt, Debra Strube, Matthew (Susie) Strube, Stephanie Strube, Andrew Strube, John Rensberger, Katrina (Justin) Kelley, Caleb (Leeann) Rensberger, and Andrew (Amber) Rensberger; nineteen great-grandchildren, Austin Hale, Aubree Hale, Tommy Liggitt, Sarah Liggitt, Emily Liggitt, Brianna Lackey, Kaylee Lackey, Summer Martin, Sophia Strube, Eleanor Strube, Jace Rensberger, Jordan Rensberger, Tyler Kelley, Allison Kelley, Ava Rensberger, Clara Rensberger, Briar Rensberger, Uriah Rensberger, Micah Rensberger; two great-great-grandchildren; and two nephews, Barry (Terry) Beatty and Robert (Cindy) Beatty.

Deceased, in addition to her parents and husband, are a daughter, Judy Rae Strube and a brother, Robert Lee Beatty Jr

Family and friends are welcome from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 P.M. on Monday in the Yoskovich Funeral Home, Martin J. Yoskovich, Funeral Director/Owner and Aaron S. Walker, Funeral Director, 300 South Vine Street, Carmichaels, Pa. The funeral service will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Tuesday, January 7, 2025 in the Greene Valley Presbyterian Church, Carmichaels, Pa with the Rev. P. Keith Larson officiating.  Interment will follow at Church Hill Cemetery, McClellandtown, Pa.  The family suggests donations to the Greene Valley Presbyterian Church, P.O. Box 363, Carmichaels, PA 15320 or to the Milford First Brethren Church P.O. Box 427, Milford IN 46542.
