Randall Lee “Randy” Sanders, 61, of West Springfield, VA, passed away on July 21st in Falls Church, VA.

Randy was born in Chillicothe, Ohio to Rita Agnes Sanders and Robert Larry Dearth, Sr. on February 11, 1962. He married Henry Wytko on September 17, 2022 in Pittsburgh, PA.

He graduated from Ohio University. He is an alumni of Huntington High School Class of 1980. He worked as an accountant for American Institutes for Research for 17 years.

He was a musician who performed with DC’s Different Drummers: Swing band, Concert Band, and Marching Band. He served as President of DCDD in the early 90’s, and was treasurer for many years.

He was a member of the Arlington Community Band and participated in performances at Douglas Park.

He was on the Bowling League Team: We are Everywhere, and treasurer of the bowling league for many years. He was member of the Bears. He was a member of the American Legion Post 757 in Chillicothe, Ohio.

He was a cheerleader at Ohio University in 1982-84. He was Huntington High School’s first male cheerleader. He volunteered at the Whitman Walker Clinic in the early 90’s.

He was a master cake baker who received recognition from the Wilton Method of Cake Decorating and the ACE Cake Decorating Achievement Program. He loved to share his exquisite creations with his neighbors and friends.

He was a certified DamselFly Transformative Healing Professional.

He was a member of the Ross County Genealogical Society.

He was a loyal friend who was devoted to caring for family and friends. Randy touched many lives and was loved by all.

Randy is preceded in death by his mother Rita Agnes Sanders, maternal grandmother Dorothy Agnes McCarty (Fink), half-brothers Sabin Lee Sanders, Robert “Bobbie” Dearth, Jr. and nephew Robbie Dearth III.

Randy is survived by his spouse Henry Wytko, sister Rhonda Sanders, sister-in-law Debbie Gresh (Mike), brother Shane Sanders, step-sisters, Ruby (Josh) Smart, and Laura (Jon) Journey, father Robert Larry Dearth, Sr., step-mother Tina Dearth, step-father Ronald Lee Sanders, and several nieces and a nephew.

A Memorial Service will be held at 3:00pm on Saturday, August 26, 2023 at the Haller Funeral Home in Chillicothe, Ohio. Friends may join the family for visitation from 1:00pm until the time of the service. Burial will follow in Floral Hills Memory Gardens. A Celebration of Life will held at the American Legion Post 757 beginning at 5pm.

A Celebration of Life and Memorial Service in Greensboro, PA will be on September 23, 2023 at 2pm located at the VFW pavilion by Deb and Mike’s
