Richard Allen Lawrence age 61, of Jefferson, Pa. passed away on Thursday, May 25, 2023 in the Washington Hospital, Washington, Pa. following a lengthy illness. He was born April 23, 1962 in Waynesburg, Pa. a son of the late John J. and Patricia Ann (Brosovich) Lawrence . Richard was a graduate of Jefferson-Morgan High School and severed in the United States Marine Corps. He worked for several highway construction companies in the area, such as Walsh Construction and Golden Triangle Construction. Richard was a member of the Labor Union Local 1058, Pittsburgh, Pa., American Legion Post 940 in West Brownsville, Pa. and the California Gun Club, California, Pa. He also loved reading and cherished spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren. On September 13, 2006 he married Dorothy Price, who survives.
Also surviving are three sons; John Ross Lawrence and Anthony Thomas both of the state of California and David Haky of Jefferson; two grandchildren, Trevor Lawrence and David Ryan Haky; three brothers, John “Jack” Lawrence (Denise) of Rices Landing, Pa., Terry L. Lawrence (Beverly) and Charles “Chuckie” Lawrence (Bernie) both of Mather, Pa.; two sisters, Darlene “Dee” Day of Newton Falls, Ohio and Cindy L. Braden (Chuck) of Jefferson. Deceased in addition to his parents is a daughter, Jennifer Haky-Taylor and brother Robert L. Lawrence.
Family and friends are welcome from noon to 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, June 3, 2023 at St Hugh Roman Catholic Church, Carmichaels, Pa. A Mass of the Resurrection will follow the visitation at 1:00 p.m. with the Rev. James B. Farnan as celebrant. Interment will follow at Jefferson Cemetery with military honors accorded by the Greene County Honor Guard.
