Robert M. Gulley, 65, of Clarksville, Pa. and formerly of Bitner, Fayette County, Pa., died Thursday, November 8, 2018 in his home. He was born January 27, 1953 in Pittsburgh, Pa., a son of the late Robert H. and Carol (Meider) Gulley. Mr. Gulley was a graduate of Uniontown High School and served with the U. S. Air Force from 1975 until 1979. He resided in Clarksville for the past 15 years and was employed as a roof bolter at the Contura Cumberland Mine. Mr. Gulley was a member of United Mine Workers of American Local 2300 and has worked in underground coal mining for the past 40 years. He was known for his strong work ethic and was an avid Pittsburgh Steelers and Pirates fan.
Surviving are four sons, Marshall L. Shankle and his wife, Regina, of Fairchance, Pa., Sean R. Gulley and his wife, Rebekah, of Liberty, N. Y., Thomas Gulley of Livingston Manor, N. Y. and Michael P. Gulley, at home; a daughter, Heather Pierpoint of Bushkill, Pa.; 11 grandchildren; a sister, Cathy Kyle and her husband, Kent, of Clarksville and several nieces and nephews. Deceased is a sister, Karen Miller.
Family and friends are welcome from 7 to 8 P.M. on Friday, November 16, 2018 in the Yoskovich Funeral Home, Carmichaels, Pa. where a memorial service will follow at 8:00 P.M. The Rev. H. David McElroy will officiate. The family suggests that memorial contributions be made to Battle 4 Warriorz, 103 Maplewood Ave., Carmichaels, PA 15320.
