Robert L. Lippencott

Robert L. Lippencott, 74, of Greensboro, Pa., passed away on Saturday, May 20, 2023 in the J. W. Ruby Memorial Hospital, Morgantown, W. Va. He was born January 14, 1949 in Waynesburg, Pa., a son of the late Robert M. and Opal F. (Krause) Lippencott.  Bob resided in Greensboro for the past 11 years where he was a member of the Greensboro Baptist Church.  He was a 1967 graduate of Waynesburg High School and was know to meet monthly with his class of 1967 at various locations in the Waynesburg area.  Bob worked as a retail manager for Kinney Shoes at several locations and lastly in Reading, Pa.  Afterward, he worked as retail manager for Cluett Apparel in Waynesburg.  Bob was last employed at Greenbriar Treatment Center in Washington, Pa. where he retired after 18 years.  He played saxophone in the jazz band during high school and enjoyed collecting vinyl record albums, attending oldies concerts with his family, listening to pre-1967 music and watching old movies and baseball.  Bob was a avid Pittsburgh Pirates fan.  He loved his family and especially cherished spending time with his grandchildren.  On March 26, 1969, he married Carol Strayer, who survives.


Also surviving are a son, Bobby A. Lippencott (Mandy) of Hundred, W. Va.; a daughter, Carol Lynn Lippencott at home; five grandchildren, Ariel Lippencott, Nathan Lippencott, Aubrie Hawkins, Rhianna Hawkins and Peyton Lippencott; a great grandson, Jaxon Thorne; a sister, Barbara L. Dehner of Waynesburg and several nieces and nephews.  Deceased are a son, Richard Lee Lippencott; a brother, Barry A. Lippencott and a brother-in-law, John Francis Dehner.


Family and friends are welcome from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 P.M. on Tuesday in the Yoskovich Funeral Home, Carmichaels, Pa. where the funeral service will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Wednesday, May 24, 2023. The Rev. Tim Tanner will officiate.

Interment will follow at Monongahela Hill Cemetery, Mapletown, Pa.

The family suggests that memorial contributions be made to Mary Babb Randolph Cancer Center, Morgantown, W. Va.
