Ronald L. Teegarden

Ronald L. Teegarden, 81, of Carmichaels, Pa. and formerly of Rices Landing, Pa., passed away at 8:28 P.M. on Thursday, January 3, 2019 at the Uniontown Hospital, Uniontown, Pa. He was born November 25, 1937 in Rices Landing, a son of the late Marion F. and Vera M. (Guesman) Teegarden.

Mr. Teegarden attended Cumberland Township High School and served with the U. S. Army from 1961 until 1963. He resided in Rices Landing for the most of his life and in Carmichaels for the past 14 years. Mr. Teegarden worked in maintenance for Rices Landing Borough for 44 years. He also drove school bus in the Carmichaels Area School district and was a regular band bus driver for the school district. In addition, Mr. Teegarden worked as an assistant manager at Davis' Market for 16 years. He was a 60 year life member of the Rices Landing Volunteer Fire Department and served the office of president. Mr. Teegarden was also a member of the Greene County Firemen's Association, the Southwestern Pennsylvania Chiefs and Assistant Chiefs Association and the Brooks Crago American Legion Post 816. In his youth, he enjoyed playing baseball and, in adulthood, he coached little league baseball. Mr. Teegarden was an avid bingo player.

Surviving are a son, Thomas Travis Teegarden and his wife, Donna, of Rices Landing; a granddaughter, Emily Nicole Teegarden and his companion, Connie M. Hillsman. Deceased is a brother, Carlton Travis Teegarden.

There will be no public viewing and family and friends are welcome to attend a memorial service at 11:00 A.M. on Saturday, January 19, 2019 at the Hewitt Presbyterian Church, Rices Landing. The Rev. William Parker will officiate. The Rices Landing Volunteer Fire Department will conduct a memorial service in the church immediately after the service. Interment of his cremains will follow at Hewitt Cemetery with military honors accorded by Cumberland American Legion Post 400 and the United States Army.
