Rose M. Montgomery

Rose M. Montgomery, 68, of Carmichaels, Pa., passed away at 3:30 P.M. on Monday, February 8, 2021 at the J. W. Ruby Memorial Hospital, Morgantown, W. Va. She was born November 7, 1952 in Waynesburg, Pa., a daughter of the late James C. and Evelyn M. (Thomas) Shiflett. Rose was a 1970 graduate of Carmichaels Area High School and a member of the First Christian Church in Carmichaels. She had been employed at the Carmichaels Area School District and later as a floral designer at the former Flowers by Howard in Carmichaels. Rose enjoyed crocheting and baking. Most importantly, her most cherished role in her life was her dedication to her family. On December 11, 1971, she married Thomas J. Montgomery, who survives.

Also surviving are a daughter, Jennifer M. McMurry (Philip) of Lima, Ohio; two sons, Thomas Montgomery, Jr. (Sherry) and Chad Montgomery (Liz), all of Canonsburg, Pa.; eight grandchildren, Katie, Emily, Libby, Jackson, Alexa, Bencic, Hines and Johnathan (Shelby); a great granddaughter, Kairi; a sister, Joyce A. Clark (Don) of Monroeville, Pa.; an uncle, Randy Thomas (Linda) of St. Albans, W. Va. and several nieces and nephews. Deceased is a sister, Linda L. Shimek.

There will be no public viewing and arrangements are private.

The family suggests that memorial contributions be made to the Flenniken Public Library, 102 E, George St., Carmichaels, PA 15320.
