Dr. William T. Parker
Rose Spangenberg, 80, of Greensboro (Mapletown), Pa., passed away at 7:07 A.M. on Friday, September 18, 2020 at the J. W. Ruby Memorial Hospital, Morgantown, W. Va. She was born October 20, 1939 in Waynesburg, Pa., a daughter of the late Paul Lewis and Lavonna (Stockdale) Lewis Loughman. Mrs. Spangenberg was a 1958 graduate of Waynesburg High School and resided in Waynesburg prior to her marriage to Charles D. Spangenberg on August 11, 1962. She then resided in Mapletown the most of her life. Her husband passed away on November 29, 2011.
Surviving are a son, Charles W. Spangenberg, with whom she resided; a daughter, Julie R. Gjormand (Robert) of Herndon, Va.; a grandson, Erik Gjormand and granddaughter, Leah Gjormand, both of Herndon; four sisters, Patricia Ankrom (Wayne) and Jacqueline Lewis all of Waynesburg, Leanna Roupe (Robert) of Carmichaels, Pa. and Sandra Gatrell (Gary) of Virginia Beach, Va.; a brother, Robert Lewis of Dysart, Pa.; numerous nieces and nephews and a close friend and "partner in crime", Karen Howard, who spent countless hours with Rose visiting, talking and watching game shows. Deceased in addition to her husband and parents are a sister, Maureen "Renee" Glidden; a brother, Paul Eugene Lewis and two half sisters, Dorothy Hines and Myra Quinn.
Family and friends are welcome from 6 to 8 P.M., the hour of service on Monday, September 21 in the Yoskovich Funeral Home, Carmichaels, Pa. The Rev. William L. Parker will officiate.
In accordance with CDC guidelines, 25 people at a time will be permitted in the funeral home and face masks will be required.
A graveside committal service will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Tuesday, September 22 at Monongahela Hill Cemetery, Mapletown.
