Sandy Sweeney

Sandra Pearle Sweeney, 73, of Greensboro, passed away on November 30, 2025, in UPMC Presbyterian, with her husband by her side. Born on May 7, 1952, in Columbus, Ohio, Sandy was the daughter of the late Blaine Martin and Florence (Tate) Martin Filby.

In 1970, Sandy graduated from Waynesburg High School, and went on to obtain a Bachelor of Arts degree. On February 27, 2006, she married James Isaac Sweeney, who survives.  Sandy was a member of the First Baptist Church of Carmichaels. Her faith and her church were very important to her.  Sandy had a love for flowers and found joy in working outside in her yard.

Left to cherish her memory, in addition to her beloved husband, are her four sons, Michael Stewart, Gregory Stewart, Fred Spencer, and Chad Spencer; stepson, Eric Sweeney; grandchildren, Wyatt Stewart, Michael Stewart, Austin Stewart, and Ava Stewart; brothers, Bruce Martin, Donald Martin, and Jeff Martin, and sisters, Deborah Berry, Susan Berry, and Cheryl Martin. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her son, Fred Spencer; and brothers, Blaine Martin, Jr., Gary Martin, and Duane Martin.

Family and friends are welcome from 2:00 to 4:00 P.M. and 6:00 to 8:00 P.M. on Thursday, December 4, 2025 at Yoskovich Funeral Home, Inc., Carmichaels.
