Sybil A. Hartley, 98, of Carmichaels, Pa. and formerly of Springfield, Mo., passed away on Sunday, August 4, 2024 in WeCare Waynesburg. She was born June 10, 1926 in Ava, Mo., a daughter of the late Reuel and Edna M. (Brown) Sell. Mrs. Hartley was a graduate of Ava High School and resided in Carmichaels for the past 10 years. She worked in retail fabric stores and a book store in Missouri. Mrs. Hartley attended the Greene Valley Presbyterian Church in Carmichaels and enjoyed many church activities. She most especially cherished being a grandma and great grandma. On July 7, 1946, she married Chester Wade Hartley, who died March 23, 2017.
Surviving are a daughter, Lorna Larson (Keith) of Carmichaels; three grandchildren, Sarah Traylor (Ethan), Elizabeth Fischer (Caleb) and Priscilla Marasco (Benjamin); three great grandchildren, Alan, Vincent and Sylvia Traylor; a sister, Elda Layman of Springfield; a nephew, Chris Douglas (Georgia) and a niece, Cindy Fehlauer (Donald).
The family acknowledges the loving care that was provided by the staff at WeCare Waynesburg and Concordia Hospice.
Family and friends are welcome from 6 to 8 P.M. on Wedneday in the Yoskovich Funeral Home, Carmichaels, Pa.
The funeral service will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Thursday, August 8, 2024 at the Greene Valley Presbyterian Church, 104 E. Greene St., Carmichaels. Pastor P. Keith Larson will officiate.
Private interment will take place at the National Cemetery of Alleghenies, Bridgeville, Pa.
The family suggests that memorial contributions be made to the Greene Valley Presbyterian Church, PO Box 363, Carmichaels, PA 15320.
