Teddy W. Cree, 84, of Garards Fort, Pa. and formerly of Greensboro, Pa., passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, December 9, 2023 in his home. He was born June 1, 1939 in Garards Fort, a son of the late Cecil H. And Grace L. (Ross) Cree. Ted was a 1957 graduate of Mapletown High School and resided in Greene County all of his life. He worked at the Shannopin Mine in Bobtown for 18 years until the mine closed in 1992. Ted then worked at several body shops in the Morgantown, W. Va. and Waynesburg, Pa. areas. He was a devoted member of the John Corbly Memorial Baptist Church in Garards Fort. Ted enjoyed playing the game of golf, restoring old cars and spending time with his family. He most especially cherished his sons.
Surviving are four sons, Bruce A. Cree (Lyn) of Gainesville, Va., Robert H. Cree (Samantha) of Carmichaels, Pa., Jeffrey S. Cree (Marsha) of Garards Fort and John M. Cree (fiancée Martha) of Somerset, Pa.; eight grandchildren, Meghan Cree, Zachary Cree, Jessica Cree, Joshua Cree (Katy), Makenzie Cree, Ashlee Guthrie (Jacob), Maddison Cree and Macee Cree; a great grandson, Jaxon Cree; a sister, Judith Shubert of Carmichaels and several nieces and nephews. Deceased are two brothers, Benny Cree and William Edward Cree and the mother of his children, Glennora Mansberry.
Family and friends are welcome from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 P.M. on Friday in the Yoskovich Funeral Home (724-966-5500), Martin J. Yoskovich, Funeral Director, 300 South Vine Street, Carmichaels, Pa. where the funeral service will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Saturday, December 16, 2023. Pastor Gary L. Whipkey will officiate.
Interment will follow at Garards Fort Cemetery, Garards Fort.
The family suggests that memorial contributions be made to the John Corbly Memorial Baptist Church.
