Thomas E. LaRosa, 75, of Carmichaels, Pa., passed away at 2:21 A.M. on Friday, January 8, 2021 at the Uniontown Hospital, Uniontown, Pa. He was born August 3, 1945 in Mt. Sterling, Fayette County, Pa. a son of the late Joseph and Katherine (Farrier) LaRosa. Mr. LaRosa attended German Township schools and served in the U. S. Navy aboard the USS Harry Yarnell during the Vietnam Era. After his wartime service, he worked for George Standish of Masontown building homes before working at the Nemacolin Mine until its closure. Mr. LaRosa did asbestos removal for about a year before working at Stahls in Masontown. He retired from Phil Detweiler Buick GMC in McClellandtown. Mr. LaRosa enjoyed gardening, fishing, spending time with his grandchildren and extended family and also visiting his wife's grandparents in Friendsville, Md. On January 25, 1969, he married Cheryl A. Smith, who survives.
Also surviving are a son, Thomas E. LaRosa, Jr., at home; a daughter, Tammy Lynn Jenkins (Butch) of Uniontown; two grandchildren, Jesse Jenkins and Jenna Jenkins; a sister, Kathy Kiger of Rogersville, Pa. and several nieces and nephews.
There will be no public viewing and arrangements are private.
The family suggests that memorial contributions be made to the Humane Society of Greene County , 183 Jefferson Road, Waynesburg, PA 15370.
