Tony Timpone Horowitz

June 11, 1974 — February 8, 2022

Tony (Antonio) Timpone Horowitz, 47, of Carlisle, Pa., died on Tuesday, February 8, 2022, of complications from COVID-19. He was born in New York City at Roosevelt Hospital on June 11th, 1974. His first year of life was spent moving between hospitals and orphanages until meeting his eventual adoptive father, Doctor Alexander Horowitz, as a patient at the hospital. The two quickly bonded and soon after Tony was brought home and raised along with the Horowitz’s other children.

Tony spent most of his youth in Madison and Chatham, New Jersey. As a child Tony excelled in sports and personal relationships. Tony was a graduate of Chatham High School in New Jersey and had an Associate’s Degree from a technical school in Camphill, Pennsylvania.

Tony was loved by all who ever encountered him. He felt maintaining relationships was important and so he stayed close with friends and family through calls and video chats. In his own words, he said on Facebook: “I’m a straightforward person who gets along with everyone” and of course we all knew this to be true. Throughout his career Tony rose the ranks at both Walmart and AutoZone, eventually rising to store manager at the latter. No easy feat for someone born with Fetal Alcohol Syndrome.

Tony spent the last fifteen years in Carlisle Pennsylvania and had recently moved in November 2021 to Nemacolin Pennsylvania.

Tony is survived by his parents, Alexander and Madeline (Holzapfel) Horowitz. He also leaves behind his sisters Naomi and Samantha, and brother Russell. Tony was engaged at the time of his passing to Kimberly Bryner and leaves her behind along with her mother Frances Morrison and Kim’s three children, Syvanna, Anthony, and Deacon. He also leaves behind two step-children, Layla and Rion whom he loved dearly and who treated Tony as if he was their daddy. In addition Tony leaves behind five nieces and nephews and countless aunts, uncles, cousins and friends who he loved and kept in close regular contact with.

Due to health restrictions, there will be no viewing or funeral service. A Celebration of Life will be announced at a later time this Spring. In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate donations to FASD United , the Fetal Alcohol Syndrome Disorders charity.
