William Bowman, age 100 of Rices Landing, Pa., formerly of West Chester, Pa. passed away on Monday, February 24, 2025 in his home. He was born January 10, 1925 in West Chester, Pa. a son of the late Robert Roscoe and Lillian (Conway) Bowman. Mr. Bowman was a veteran of the United States Army Air Corps, having served during WW II. After his military service he worked as a barber for several other barbershops before owning and operated his own barbershop. After he closed his shop Mr. Bowman worked for Myles & Karen Strohl Estate in Trapp, Pa. In 1999 he and his wife moved to Greene County. Mr. Bowman was a former member of Chichester Baptist Church in Upper Chichester, Pa. and current member of Calvary Baptist Church in Uniontown, Pa. On August 31, 1946 he married Marjorie J. Kirmes, who survives. Also surviving is a son, James A. Bowman (Jeannine) of Benton, Tenn.; daughter, Jean Marie Grimm of Rices Landing; seven grandchildren; nine great grandchildren; 2 great great grandchildren; deceased in addition to his parents is a son, Michael S. Bowman; granddaughter, Heather Ryan; ten siblings, Margaret Garrett, Andrew Bowman, James Bowman, Florence Cruse, Helen Green, George Bowman, Roland Bowman, Leon Bowman, Bertha Swisher and William Bowman. Family and friends are welcome to a graveside service at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, February 28, 2025 at Grove Methodist Cemetery, West Chester, Pa. A memorial service and luncheon will be held immediately after the 10:00 A.M. Sunday service on March 30, 2025 at the Calvary Baptist Church, 308 McClellandtown Road, Uniontown, PA 15401.
