William B. Smearcheck, Jr.

William B. Smearcheck, Jr., 66, of Nemacolin, Pa., passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, April 16, 2023 in his home. He was born December 31, 1956 in Uniontown, Pa., a son of Florence M. (Bogacik) Smearcheck of Waynesburg, Pa. and the late William E. Smearcheck. Bill resided most of his life in Nemacolin and was a member of the St. Matthias Parish. He retired as an electrician at the Emerald Mine in Waynesburg and was a member of the United Mine Workers of American Local 2258. Bill was a former member of the Nemacolin Volunteer Fire Company and was an avid reader and enjoyed history.

Surviving in addition to his mother are a son, William J. Smearcheck, III of Arlington, Va.; a brother, Rick Smearcheck (Debra) of North Canton, Ohio; a sister, Renee Bosco (Bob) of Waynesburg and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

There will be no visitation at the funeral home. Family and friends are welcome to greet the family before the Mass at the St. Matthias Parish at St. Hugh, 408 Route 88, Carmichaels, Pa. from 10:30 A.M. until 11:00 A.M., the time of a Mass of the Resurrection on Friday, April 21, 2023 at with the Rev. James B. Farnan as celebrant. Interment will follow at Greene County Memorial Park.
