William “Tiggy” Dwane Teegarden, 68, of Carmichaels, passed away on Sunday, June 28, 2026 in his home. Born on August 9, 1957, in Waynesburg, the son of the late Oliver James Teegarden and Betty Louise (Hook) Teegarden Martin.
Tiggy dedicated 37 1/2 years to Emerald Mine, and was a member of the United Mine Workers of America. He shared fifty wonderful and adventurous years with his beloved, Annette "Annie" (Thomas) Teegarden. The two traveled to Hawaii, Alaska, Mexico, Arizona, Africa, and memorable rides to Sturgis, South Dakota.
A lover of motorcycles—especially Harleys—he found enjoyment on the open road. He took pride in his 2010 Mustang. Tiggy was a charter member of the Rices Landing Athletic Club and a former member of the Jessop Boat Club. He shot pool in several Greene County leagues. He was known for his delicious chicken on the spit and beef on the barrel. He enjoyed daily car rides with his loyal canine companion, Hans. Weekly, he and his friends, Serb and Stan, took shopping trips to Cheplics. Tiggy also treasured time spent with his nieces.
Along with his loving wife, he will be remembered by his brothers, Donald J. Teegarden (Nancy) of Waynesburg, and Michael D. Teegarden of Waynesburg; sisters, Christine C. Mango (Frank) of Uniontown, Terry E. Terry (David) of Branchland, W.Va., Cynthia L. Jenkins (Rick) of Marianna, and Beverly K. Ambrose (Terry) of Waynesburg; several nieces and nephews, and his buddy, Hans.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Paul and Timothy Lee Teegarden; sister-in-law, Karen Teegarden, and nephew, Robert Newton Jenkins.
Family and friends are welcome from 2:00 to 4:00 P.M. and 6:00 to 8:00 P.M. on Tuesday, June 30, 2026, at Yoskovich Funeral Home, Inc., Carmichaels. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Wednesday, July 1, 2026 in the funeral home. Interment will follow at Greene County Memorial Park.
The family would like to extend their sincere appreciation to Amedisys Hospice, and the doctors, especially Dr. Goldberg, at the Washington Cancer Center.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations be made to Amedisys Hospice, 2183 McClellandtown Rd., Masontown, PA 15461; Healing Phoenix Arts (his nephew's foundation) P.O. Box 614, Bowmansville, PA 17507, or the American Cancer Society.
