James E. Howard, 70 of St. Marys, Ga. and formerly of Mapletown, Pa., died Saturday, December 8, 2007 in Georgia. He was born February 14, 1937 in Greene County, Pa., the son of the late James Oscar and Rosella Mae (Shoenberger) Howard. Mr. Howard moved to St. Marys in 1986 from Painesville, Ohio and was an electrical contractor for 10 years, retiring five years ago. He was a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles No. 4379 in St. Marys, the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers Local Union No. 673, the Benevolent and Protective Order of Elks Lodge No. 549 and Masonic Lodge No. 28 F. & A. M. in Painesville. Surviving are his wife of 23 years, Gayle Howard of St. Marys; a son, James R. Howard (Debi) of Painesville; a stepson, Randell Boyle (Venus) of Saegertown, Pa.; a stepdaughter, Ronda Brown (Mike) of Kingsland, Ga.; two brothers, Paul Howard of Escondido, Cal. and Marvin Howard of Painesville; a sister, Marlene Howard of Madison, Ohio and five grandchildren, Caleb Howard, Steven Pancoast, Thomas Worlie, David Brown and Brittany Boyle. Deceased are two brothers, Melvin Howard and John Howard. Funeral services were held at 7:00 P.M. on Wednesday, December 12, 2007 from the Allison Memorial Chapel in St. Marys, with Father Mac Flowers officiating followed by Masonic Services. A graveside service will be held at 2:00 P.M. on Saturday, December 15, 2007 at Garards Fort Cemetery, Garards Fort, Pa. with the Rev. Gary Whipkey officiating. The family requests that memorial contributions be made to Hospice of the Golden Isles, 1692 Glynco Parkway, Brunswick, GA 31525 or to the Fraternal Order of Eagles,101 C Industrial Dr., St. Marys, GA 31558.
